Degree Programs
We offer courses of
study for both the Master of Science and the Doctor of Philosophy
degrees in Chemical Engineering. Each program offers an excellent avenue
for technical growth through advanced course studies, plus the
opportunity to perform exciting original research. Students who enter
the program upon completion of their B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
may elect to pursue a Ph.D. directly (bypassing the M.S. degree) or to
obtain the M.S., then the Ph.D. degree.
Both the M.S. and Ph.D.
programs require completion of a thesis (or report) based on independent
creative study performed in collaboration with a research advisor. This
research gives you the opportunity to work closely with a faculty member
who is an authority in your chosen thesis field and to contribute new
scientific and engineering knowledge. The selection of a research
advisor is done by mutual agreement of the student and faculty member
following discussions between the student and each member of our
faculty.
