Master of Science Degree

The M.S. degree can be earned in one of two ways. The preferred route is the "Thesis" option, which requires 24 semester hours of course work plus a minimum of six hours of thesis credit. The student must submit an acceptable written thesis and defend it in an oral examination.

The alternate route to the M.S. degree is the "Report" option, which requires 30 hours of course work and a minimum of two hours of report credit. This option is designed primarily for part-time students who are employed industrially.
