The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) chose Billy Collins (OSU Senior in Chemical Engineering) to receive a Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer National Scholarship Award. Each year, fifteen students from various schools in the nation are selected for this award.

Selection is based on a combination of academic performance, student leadership, and other activities that reveal a commitment to using chemical engineering to have a positive impact on society.

He will receive this award at the 2009 Annual AIChE Student Conference.

Billy is from Plano, TX. His leadership activities include: AIChE Student Chapter President, Student Foundation Chairman, CEAT Student Council Executive Officer (Freshman Council Coordinator).
