Lindsey Campbell
Receives 2009 Women's
Faculty Council Research
Award
Lindsey
Campbell, Chemical
Engineering (ChE) freshman,
was one of nine OSU students
to receive the Women’s
Faculty Council recognition
for her undergraduate
research. Lindsey is working
with ChE Assistant Professor
Heather Fahlenkamp on
characterizing drug release
from a novel ophthalmic drug
delivery system. Lindsey
will receive a prize of $500
for her excellent research
project, and she will
present her work during the
on-campus award ceremony.
Lindsey is from Haworth,
OK. She chose to participate
in undergraduate research
because, she says, “I have
always been interested in
the science behind how
processes work, and I knew
that working in a research
lab would be an excellent
opportunity to gain
experience in that area."
Lindsey plans to continue
her research and will be
seeking funding for her
project from the Lou Wentz
Foundation.
Dr. Fahlenkamp has only
been at OSU for three years,
but she is already
demonstrating exceptional
success in integrating
undergraduate students in
her research. Notably, Renee
Hale received a national
Goldwater Scholarship in
part as a result of her
undergraduate research under
the direction of Dr.
Fahlenkamp. Congratulations
to Lindsey and her advisor!
