Wentz Undergraduate
Scholarships 2009-10
Two chemical engineering
undergraduates will each
receive $2,750 scholarships
from the Lou Wentz
Foundation during the
2009-2010 academic year.
 Jodie Millemon is a sophomore in our
environmental option who will be
working with ChE associate
professor Dr. Karen High this
summer as a research assistant.
She is from Ponca City, and
performing the extra work at OSU
leading to graduating with
Honors. Jodie is a strong
participant in extracurricular
activities including serving on
the CEAT student council, OSU
Crew team (secretary), CEAT
ambassador, and SWE & AIChE
student chapters. She is also a
CEAT Scholar.
After graduation, she
hopes to enter a career that
permits international
traveling. Her hobbies
include quilting, bike
riding, photography, antique
browsing, kayaking, and
obviously, OSU spectator
sports.
 Billy Collins’ hometown is Plano, TX. In
addition to his ChE degree, he
is pursuing a minor in
Philosophy and an Honors College
Award, and has participated in a
summer of study abroad at
Cambridge University, England.
In 2006, his summer
internship was with Chevron
Phillips as an IT analyst
and technical support. In
2008 with ConocoPhillips as
a production and well
optimization engineer in
Central Texas, and this
summer, he will work with
ConocoPhillips’ Production
and Liquefied Natural Gas
groups in Anchorage, Alaska.
Billy is also active in
Extra Curricular Activities,
which include AIChE, CEAT
Student Council, Intramural
sports (football, handball,
racquetball, and Frisbee),
Student Government
Association.
His post-graduation plans
are not set. Billy writes,
“Though I am still unsure of
what I would like to do,
upstream engineering in the
area of production and
processing is very
interesting. I am also
preparing to take the
entrance test to law school
because I am quite
interested in regulatory and
policy law.”
